ExxonMobil and Han King showcase Exceed™ and Vistamaxx™ performance polymers for stretch hood packaging solutions
- Offers economic benefits with improved protection for palletized goods
- Reduces the amount of damaged or returned goods
- Provides enhanced clarity for retail display and bar code reading
SHANGHAI (May 3, 2017) – ExxonMobil and Han King Plastic Machinery Co. Ltd. are collaborating at Chinaplas to demonstrate how the combination of Exceed™ and Vistamaxx™ performance polymers, with 5-layer coextrusion blown film technology is being used to produce a high-performance stretch hood packaging solution. The 90 micron stretch hood solution is being demonstrated at the Han King booth (8.1D21).
“Film converters are always looking for ways to efficiently produce high-quality films and this combination of performance polymers and quality equipment delivers a solution that meets those needs,” said Olivier Lorge, global market development manager, ExxonMobil Chemical. “Using Exceed and Vistamaxx enables the production of a stretch hood film that not only offers effective product protection, but creates opportunities for high packaging line speeds and the potential to reduce costs.”
The film offers the seal strength and hot-tack, tear and puncture resistance, as well as the ability to tailor the holding force to deliver economic benefits and improved protection for palletized goods. Providing secure load stability during transportation from the factory floor to retail outlets and homes, this stretch hood packaging solution can reduce the amount of damaged and returned goods.
The high clarity of the film promotes effective brand visibility in retail outlets, easy bar code reading and excellent quality control.
Stretch hood films are well-suited for palletized applications that include beverages, packaged food and bottled goods, household appliances, building products packed in bags like sand, cement, packaging materials, and paper.
